The Lure Love Podcast website took third place for best website in the 2021 Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers annual competition, and podcast co-host Tim "Tackle Box" Bete snagged first place for best online article for his humorous essay, Deer in a Kayak.
The annual competition recognizes AGLOW members for excellence in craft. The prestigious awards are given to the best media entries in categories including video, online, radio, print and photography.
AGLOW was founded in 1956, making it one of the oldest outdoor communicators associations in the country. The Association started with a humble beginning. A handful of outdoor media professionals saw an association as a way for them to connect as writers, improve their craft and become better stewards of the outdoors by connecting with others in the outdoor industry.
Today AGLOW has grown to more than 400 members that comprise a dynamic organization of writers, editors, publishers, broadcasters, authors, lecturers, photographers, artists, electronic media specialists, bloggers, outdoors industry representatives and tourism professionals, working together to promote the conservation and responsible use of our outdoor resources.
"The Lure Love Podcast is still pretty new, so we were thrilled to be honored so quickly," said Bete. "The Crappie Hippie and I just love making the podcast and talking about fishing lures."
